Ponting and Kumble had a gentleman's agreement that if the fielder was 100% sure that he caught the catch, then they won't refer it to the third umpire and take the fielder's word for it. This was to save time.
Two possibilites arise:
1. Clarke is a retard and doesn't know whether he grounded the catch so he claimed. This means he is honest but a retard.
2. He is dishonest and claimed a grounded catch.
